The “Tadeusz Kulisiewicz Grants and Prizes” Foundation was established by the artist himself, and registered in 1986. The main goal of the Foundation is to look after and promote gifted students and young artists of outstanding merit, who contribute to the development of contemporary drawing and printmaking.
Tadeusz Kulisiewicz was one of the most eminent twentieth-century Polish artists. A printmaker and draughtsman, he was at the same time an outstanding educator, associated with the Academy of Fine Arts over several decades. In his rich and varied art production (drawings, travel sketches, illustrations for ambitious contemporary literature, and numerous prints), he expressed lasting interest in people and the world. The inspiration found in his works, connected with man and his surroundings, his characteristically synthetic and universal image of what he saw, result in a body of universal work, whose content can provoke reflection in young artists.
