Andrzej Węcławski

(b. 1962) Professor of Visual Arts; his art practice includes printmaking, painting and drawing. Since 1986, associated with the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. Head of Department of Printmaking; 2002-2005 and 2005-2008, Dean of the Faculty of Graphic Arts. Jury member of numerous national and international competitions, including: Polish Print Triennial (Katowice, 2003, 2006, 2009), International Triennial of Small Graphic Forms (Łódź, 2008), International Print Triennial in Krakow – Grand Prix of Young Graphics, Chairman of the Jury (2009). Chairman of the Qualifying Panel, IMPRINT 2008. Curator of many exhibitions of Polish graphic art. He received many awards and honors, including the Grand Prix in the competition for the Günter Grass Foundation Daniel Chodowiecki Prize (2007), Prix de la Ville Sarcelles, 13th Biennial in Sarcelles, France (2007), Pegasus – the art prize of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts (2007), Grand Prix of IV International Drawing Competition in Wrocław (2009).

Maciej Buszewicz

(b. 1952) Professor of Visual Arts, graphic artist; parallel to his printmaking, he practices graphic design. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in 1979. Since the mid-70s he has cooperated with a number of book publishers. In the 80s, he belonged to the independent culture scene. For his prints, he received many awards at home and abroad. The most important is a prestigious Warsaw Archdiocese Prize, granted in 1986 for his artwork created during the martial law. Since 1984, he has worked at the Faculty of Graphic Arts, Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, where he currently runs Studio of Book Design. At the end of the 80s, he began teaching internationally, including Germany, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Turkey, the United States and Australia. In 1992, he established his own graphic design studio B © Grafika Wydawnicza. In the field of graphic design he has received numerous awards and honours, including Silver Medal and two Special Mentions at the IBA in Leipzig, and 25 main prizes and over 30 special mentions in the Polish Society of Book Publishers competition The Most Beautiful Book of the Year.

Agnieszka Cieślińska

(b. 1964) Professor of Visual Arts; graphic artist. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in 1991; currently runs a studio at the Department of Printmaking of the Warsaw Academy. 2002-2011, Member of the Board of the Tadeusz Kulisiewicz Grants and Prizes Foundation. Curator of a number of print exhibitions, including Curator of IMPRINT International Graphic Arts Triennial in Warsaw. Member of the juries of national and international competitions. Winner of a number of national and international awards, including Kochi International Triennial Awards Exhibition of Prints, Japan, and the Award of the Naka-Tosa Museum of Art, Japan. She presented 14 solo exhibitions. She showed her works at more than 110 exhibitions at home and abroad.

Sebastian Dudzik

(b. 1972) art historian, doctorate, 2006; his research interests include art and art patronage of modern times and history and theory of graphic arts and digital media. Assistant Professor in the Department of Art History and Culture of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. Since 2010, he has taught history of graphic arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk. Since 2007, member of the editorial board of the journal Artluk. Sztuka na spad. He collaborates with the Wozownia Gallery in Toruń and the BWA in Bydgoszcz.

Paweł Frąckiewicz

(b. 1965) Professor of Visual Arts; his art practice includes in printmaking, drawing and painting. In 1982, he graduated from the State School of Fine Arts in Wrocław (now Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław). Since 1999, he has run Studio of Lithography. Since 2005, Paweł Frąckiewicz has been the Subdean of the Faculty of Graphic Arts and Media Art. He is curator of the International Drawing Competition in Wrocław. He was awarded a scholarship of the Ministry of Culture and Art, at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava (1989), and from the US Department of State, at the Tamarind Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico (1990). He has had about 25 solo exhibitions and took part in almost 150 group print and drawing exhibitions in Poland and abroad.

Piotr Garlicki

(b. 1969 ) as Associate Professor, teaches at the Department of Visual Communication, Faculty of Graphic Arts, Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He studied at the Faculty of Graphic Arts of the Warsaw Academy, 1990-1995. He designs visual identifications, designs posters, books and catalogues, and It is Creative Director at the agency CAM. Since 2006, he has worked as designer for the Montownia Theatre in Warsaw. He received numerous awards and distinctions, including at the 18th Polish Poster Biennale in Katowice (Bronze Medal); at the 19th Polish Poster Biennale in Katowice (Rector of the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice Award). He is the author of visual identification of the IMPRINT Triennial.

Henryk Ożóg

(b. 1956) Professor of Visual Arts; graphic artist. Studied at the Faculty of Graphic Arts, Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, 1976-1981. Since 2002, he has directed Studio of Intaglio Printing, Faculty of Graphic Arts, Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. 2002-2008, Deputy Dean, Faculty of Graphic Arts. Since 2008, Head of Department of Printmaking. Participated in over 300 exhibitions in Poland and abroad, and 35 solo exhibitions. Select Awards and Prizes: 1994 – Second Triennial of Polish Graphics, Katowice (Statutory Prize, nomination for the Grand Prix); 1997 – International Print Exhibit, Gilkey Center for Graphic Arts, Portland Art Museum, USA (Purchase Prize Award); 1997 – International Print Triennial, Krakow (Statutory Prize); 2009 – 7th Polish Print Triennial, Katowice (Grand Prix).

Mirosław Pawłowski

(b. 1957) Professor of Fine Art, graphic artist. Studied at the State School of Fine Arts in Poznań, 1976-1981; honours master’s degree. Since 1982, he has worked at the Department of Printmaking of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. Since 1995, Head of Serigraphy Studio at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań. Dean of the Faculty of Graphic Arts, AFA in Poznań, 2002-2008. He currently serves as Rector’s Representative for Promotion and Publications, University of Art, Poznań. Between the years 1983 and 2010 he had 54 individual graphic art exhibitions and participated in 247 collective exhibitions, some of them international in Poland and abroad. Winner of a number of prestigious awards, including: International Print Biennial in Krakow - SBWA statutory award (1986), International Biennial "Confronting Values", Katowice - Committee for Independent Culture Award (1990), International Print Triennial in Krakow – statutory award (2006). Curator of: Student Biennial in Poznan 1999-2006; International Print Triennial "Colour in Graphic Art" - Toruń 2003, 2006, 2009. Member of the Organizing Committee and the juror of the Polish Print Triennial in Katowice, 2006, 2009; juror of the International Print Triennial in Krakow, 2009.

Adam Romaniuk

(b. 1949) Professor of Visual Arts, graphic artist. He graduated from Katowice Faculty of Graphic Arts, Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow in 1973. In 1978-1991 he in turn ran the studios of: typographic design, composition, lettering, typography and book design. In 1991-2000, he directed the Studio of Flat Printing (Lithography), and since 2000, Studio of Digital Technology and Intermedia. 2008-2010, he ran Studio of Digital Technology and Intermedia, and from 2010, Studio of Digital Print at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice. He currently works at the Faculty of Arts, Radom University of Technology. He has had over 40 solo exhibitions and participated in over 200 exhibitions in Poland and abroad. Curator of Polish Print Triennial in Katowice.

Piotr Smolnicki

(b. 1952) Professor of Visual Arts; he is a printmaker and makes objects. He graduated from the Faculty of Graphic Arts, Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, where he now runs a studio of drawing for years 2-5. 2005-2008, Subdean, and, 2008-2012, Dean of the Faculty of Graphic Arts, AFA in Warsaw. He participated in a number of exhibitions, nationally and internationally; curated exhibitions and was member of the jury at printmaking competitions.

Rafał Strent

(b. 1943) Professor; printmaker and painter. He graduated from the Faculty of Painting, Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, where he still works. Currently, he teaches students of years 3 – 5 in a studio of printmaking at the Faculty of Graphic Arts, AFA in Warsaw. Performs many functions, including: Chairman of the Section of Art, Central Commission for Academic Degrees and Titles, an expert on the National Accreditation Commission, a member of the Chapter of the C. K. Norwid Award. In the years 1990 – 1996, Dean of the Faculty of Graphic Arts; 1999 – 2002, President of the Board, Polish Artists’ Association. Author of more than 60 exhibitions of paintings, prints and drawings at home and abroad; participated in about 300 group exhibitions; awarded a number of prizes, including those at: International Print Biennial in Sofia, International Biennial of Graphic Art in Vienna, International Grand Prix for Contemporary Art in Monte Carlo; Minister of Culture’s Award for creative work.
